The Calistoga City Council on June 24 approved year‑end adjustments to the city’s operating and other funds for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
Administrative Services Director Connie Cardenas presented the adjustments, noting increases in several revenue lines and offsets in expenditures. She said building permit and planning service revenues were up by nearly $200,000 because of new development activity. Fire‑related reimbursements—largely from strike team activity—added approximately $191,000 related to a recent Eaton Fire response, and mutual aid and reimbursement activity produced other revenue variances. On the expenditure side, the police department showed increased overtime costs (Cardenas cited roughly $121,000) and higher contract costs associated with shared services with St. Helena. She also highlighted roughly $93,000 in savings in risk management and liability compared with the budget.
Cadenas told the council the net effect increases the city’s estimated year‑end balances; staff expects to transfer funds and complete formal audit adjustments following the fiscal‑year close. The council had no public speakers on the item. Mayor Williams moved adoption of the resolution approving the year‑end adjustments; Council Member Gift seconded, and the council approved the resolution unanimously.
Cadenas said staff will provide final year‑end figures and an audit close report to council later in the fall once external audit work is complete.
