Commissioners promote new county comprehensive plan and note PPL substation proposal in Tresco

At the meeting a commissioner praised the consultant HRG for compiling the plan and highlighted the plan’s lists of potential funding sources and project recommendations. Commissioners said they will promote the plan during regional open-space meetings and encourage municipalities to consider the comp plan’s goals and objectives when updating their own plans.
Separately, planning staff briefly reported that PPL Electric Utilities submitted a proposal to construct a new 230-kilovolt substation in the Tresco area. Staff did not present detailed plans or a schedule; the item was noted as an informational update for the month.
