James Island council names BZA and neighborhood council appointees; tree advisory additions recognized

Councilwoman Dr. Mignano's appointment of Skyler Blair to the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) was approved by voice vote. The mayor asked staff to coordinate onboarding with the appointee.
The council also approved reappointments to the neighborhood council: Maggie Little (Stone Post neighborhood), Sandrine Camporo (White House Plantation) and Wendy Teal (White House Plantation). The appointments were moved and seconded and carried on voice votes.
Council members reported on recent BZA activity: a rezoning application for a daycare in the Honey Hill neighborhood was considered at a BZA meeting and approved with conditions after community support and a petition in favor. The mayor described the hearing as well attended and said the application passed with conditions.
The council confirmed two appointments to the tree advisory committee: Susan Milliken and Linda Glover. The meeting also recognized Linda and Nordy Glover for receiving a tree canopy award for a historic live oak on their property.
These appointments and board reports were acted on as part of committee and consent agenda items; no separate public hearings or contested votes occurred in council session for these appointments.
