The Lakeville Zoning Board of Appeals at its June 12 meeting performed routine procedural business and took several non‑land‑use policy actions.
The board voted to continue the Belozzo hearing at the applicant’s request until the July 17 meeting; the applicant, Cody Belozzo, asked for the continuance to await action by the conservation commission. The board chair opened the hearing and recorded a motion to continue; the motion carried.
The board approved meeting minutes from April 17 by voice vote. Members then approved an appointment of a zoning‑board representative to the town’s Zoning Bylaw Review Advisory Committee, appointing Jeff (last name not specified in the record) as the board’s representative.
Separately, board members discussed a longstanding water issue in the LeBaron Hill subdivision. Board members recalled previous testimony and a developer request to extend a water line; the board agreed to send a letter to the Select Board asking it to advocate with the Taunton Water Department to allow an extension of the water line through Fern Avenue to Precinct Street as part of phase 6 of the development. The draft letter asks the Select Board to request that Taunton not require a shutoff gate that would keep the extension closed except for emergencies, and it notes residents’ willingness to upgrade individual meters to meet Taunton specifications. The board asked the town clerk/select board be notified of the request; members said they view the extension as improving water pressure and quality for the LeBaron community.
The chair closed the meeting after approving adjournment at 8:06 p.m.
