Mifflin County discusses multi-year Newtonborough water-meter project; $338,600 estimate, 83 meters to be moved to right of way

"This project is just to place the meters in the public right of way," a county utilities staff member said. Staff reported the original application identified 84 meter locations but a recent resurvey found 83 meters to be replaced and some locations will change.
Staff gave a project cost estimate of $338,600 and said there is approximately $13,000 that still needs to be obtained to fully fund the work. The project is structured as a multi-year recipient agreement; according to staff, construction had not started as of the meeting.
