Planning and Zoning Commission approves consent agenda including sign-code amendment

The Chandler Planning and Zoning Commission approved its consent agenda at the June 18 meeting, adopting a sign-code amendment and approving the June 4 meeting minutes.

The action was taken by motion and carried without a roll-call tally; the mover and seconder were not identified in the public transcript. Vice Chair Cooley said for the record that she supported the sign-code item but asked legal counsel to reconsider use of state statute to prohibit signs in the downtown area.

The consent agenda presented to the commission included the June 4 meeting minutes and the sign-code amendment; the transcript indicates the previously proposed area plan update was withdrawn from consideration and removed from the agenda.
