Brandy Bone, domestic violence and elder abuse program manager for DVAC, read statistics from the National Council on Aging about elder abuse prevalence and economic impacts, and described county outreach activities, including senior-center events, bingo visits to Arbor Court and Kenwood, Meals on Wheels flyer distribution to neighboring counties, a purple-margarita fundraiser at LaCurva and a Farm & Art Market appearance.
Commissioners thanked Bone and approved the proclamation by voice vote. Bone said the DVAC program serves a 10-county area and listed outreach and awareness activities already completed and planned. There was no dissent recorded.
