The Klamath County Board of Commissioners on June 17 approved memoranda of understanding that permit Community Corrections to supply supervised community-service crews to three county and district programs.
Staff described three separate agreements: (1) with the Drainage Service District for drain-system cleanup (trash and weed removal) with the agreement effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027 and revenue to Community Corrections not to exceed $20,000; (2) with the Klamath Irrigation District to maintain vegetation along a canal for up to two rounds a year, effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 with revenue not to exceed $4,800 annually; and (3) with Klamath County Public Works to provide roadway cleanup and other maintenance services, effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027 with revenue not to exceed $80,000.
Commissioners voted to approve each memorandum and authorized the Community Corrections director to sign the agreements on behalf of the county.
Ending: Community Corrections staff said the agreements formalize existing cooperative work, provide supervised crew opportunities and generate modest revenue to support the program.
