The College Station ISD Board of Trustees took several procedural and purchasing votes on June 17, 2025 during its regular meeting and workshop. Below are the key items the board approved or discussed briefly.
Approved items (motions passed 6–0 unless otherwise noted)
- Meeting schedule for 2025–26: Trustees approved holding regular workshops and meetings on the third Tuesday of each month for the 2025–26 school year. Motion by Trustee Binn; second by Trustee Iggy.
- Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda (items G and J3–J23 as listed in the meeting packet). Motion by Trustee Iggy; second noted. (Vote 6–0)
- Rock Prairie addition/renovation commissioning contract: Trustees approved a purchase over $50,000 to contract commissioning and testing & balancing services with GreenStar Engineering for the Rock Prairie addition/renovation project. The contract amount presented was $88,006.25 and funding will come from the 2023 bond. Motion by Trustee Simmons; second by Trustee Egan.
- Adoption of employee compensation plan and budgets: (See separate articles for full coverage) Trustees adopted the compensation Plan F (5% midpoint plus HB2 stipends) and the 2025–26 child nutrition, debt service and general fund budgets.
Items discussed, not yet decided
- Senate Bill 401 (homeschool student participation in UIL): Staff briefed the board on changes to Senate Bill 401 that shift the default: unless a board takes action to opt out by Sept. 1, 2025, homeschool students will be eligible to participate in UIL activities. Administration said it will place the item on the July board meeting for possible action.
- Local policy updates: Staff previewed six local policy updates (board‑related policies, attendance/seat-time policy changes, bullying and safety/transfer policies, and health policy on unassigned inhalers). Staff said many of the changes align written policy with practices already in use or reflect recommendations from TASB and legal review; the board will consider these policies in July.

All procedural and purchase motions on the consent/agenda and the Rock Prairie commissioning contract passed unanimously (6–0). Staff will return with policy language and the Senate Bill 401 opt‑out question at the July meeting for action.
