Jackson Public Schools celebrates Class of 2025; district reports $60 million in scholarship offers

Graduation and scholarships: The administration reported that the Jackson Public Schools Class of 2025 comprised 1,359 graduates who collectively received nearly $60 million in scholarship offers. "This was a celebration of progress, purpose, and the power of education," the superintendent said during the highlights presentation. The district reported Forest Hill High School led the district with nearly $26 million in scholarship offers and Jim Hill High School followed with more than $25 million.
Awards and honors: Administrators also highlighted the districts "ACT 30+ club," inducting 13 new students to bring the total to 20 high-achieving scholars who scored 30 or above on the ACT. The district recognized the 2025 National Merit Scholar and said eight scholars earned the Mississippi Seal of Biliteracy for proficiency in English and at least one world language.
Other milestones: The board heard about Unified Field Day activities that paired exceptional-education and general-education students for inclusive recreation events, and about elementary fifth-grade transition ceremonies. School leaders reminded families that registration opens July 28 and is required for bus service and summer programs; the district provided PowerSchool parent-portal contact details and said registration is not available during the first week of school.
The board acknowledged the years achievements across the district and thanked families, teachers and community partners for supporting scholars' advancement.
