The Encinitas City Council on Wednesday approved the Planning Commissionannual report and work plan with several amendments after a lengthy public discussion and comments by commissioners and residents.
The council approved the work plan as amended, removing two items from the Planning Commission's active list, moving three items into the "current goals" category, adding a new objective to review the general plan for protections and additional objective requirements, and directing the commission and staff to prioritize work items with specific leads, timelines and measurable goals. Mayor Mary Ehlers made the motion; Council Member Schafer seconded. The motion carried with Deputy Mayor Lyons voting no.
