Fairport board recognizes 272 honor graduates and spring scholar-athletes

Principal Bob Clark told the board the district moved to Latin honors several years ago and now recognizes 19 summa (97.5–100 average), 122 magna (92.5–97.4) and 131 cum laude (87.5–92.4) graduates, a total of 272 students from a graduating class of 421. Clark said the district does not weight grades and that the honors listing is based on a seven-semester cumulative average pulled in January.
The board also heard an athletic recognition from the district athletic director and staff: every spring varsity team earned the scholar-athlete team award (team GPA thresholds apply), with softball recording the highest team GPA (96.13) followed by flag football (95.5) and boys varsity tennis (95.54). The district highlighted team accomplishments across baseball, flag football, boys and girls lacrosse, softball, track and field, and tennis; individual state-level performances and honors were noted, including state qualifiers and high-school All-American designations for several athletes.
Board members and administrators thanked coaches, guidance counselors, staff who organize honors events, parents and volunteers. The board noted upcoming graduation events and the district’s end-of-year celebrations.
No formal action was taken during the recognition portion; the board moved on to regular agenda business after the presentations.
