Court defers final vote on new infrastructure and subdivision rules after extended debate

Grimes County Commissioners Court on June 18 paused action on a new package of infrastructure regulations that would reorganize subdivision standards and add criteria for drainage, traffic impact analyses and requirements for commercial and industrial development.
County Engineer John Stiber told the court the draft updates would extend requirements beyond residential subdivisions to commercial, industrial and agricultural developments and would require additional studies and permitting steps that the county currently does not require.
