Committee hears several smaller contract credits and change orders, including credits for completed projects and coordination-related COs

Dane Countys Public Works and Transportation Committee on June 17 recorded several smaller change orders and deducts across county construction projects.

Todd described three deducts: a $5,000 credit for a grease interceptor replacement at Verona (unused allowance), an $8,554 credit for changing from a hard ceiling to an acoustical lay-in ceiling in the medical examiners imaging project, and a $3,250 credit tied to a revised approach for the Henry Vilas Zoo shade-structure anchor detailing. Todd said these are contract credits that return contingency or allowance funds to the county.

Steve summarized eight Myron Construction change orders (numbers 124131) with amounts and purposes: CO124 ($0) stair-shaft detail revision; CO125 ($5,619.83) revised fixtures in lower-level spaces after BIM coordination; CO126 ($7,565.89) architectural finish adjustments for a new fire-command room; CO127 ($3,201.48) county-paid trench-drain material replacement after discovery of a damaged drain; CO128 (credit $240.89) fixture revisions; CO129 ($5,728.04) costs to modify a prefabricated cell mock-up per Sheriffs transition-team comments; CO130 ($1,845.64) electrical power to hand dryers; and CO131 ($6,517.21) drafting and resubmittal of fire-alarm drawings to the authority having jurisdiction amid local adoption of the 2021 International Fire Code.

All the listed change orders and credits were reported and recommended for approval or recorded by the committee; members voiced approval during the meeting.
