Committee approves private sanitary sewer easement for new Public Safety communications facility

Dane Countys Public Works and Transportation Committee on June 17 approved recording a private sanitary sewer easement that will cross the lot where the new Public Safety Communications Center is to be built.
Shereen described the item as a private sanitary sewer easement needed in addition to public easements already on a certified survey map with the City of Madison. "There's 1 easement that they want us to record a separate private sanitary sewer easement, and that's this 1," she said, adding that the county owns both lots created by the survey map and that the City of Madison requested the separate recorded easement so future owners would retain sewer access. Shereen said blanks in the draft easement will be filled after the certified survey map records and that there are no fees associated with recording the easement because it is between county lots.
Supervisor McCarville moved and Supervisor Udell seconded the motion; the committee approved the action by voice vote with no opposition recorded in the transcript.
Staff will record the easement after the survey map is finalized.
