City staff recommended adoption of Resolution R25-14 as presented. Councilman Greg Redden moved to approve the resolution; Councilwoman Cobb seconded. The motion carried unanimously among members present. At the start of the meeting the city stated four of five council members were present; the roll call on the resolution was recorded as unanimous in favor, with one member absent.
After the vote, the council invited Heather Long to the dais and administered the oath of office. U.S. Congressman John Carter was invited to the podium to participate in the oath.
The council then moved on to select a mayor and mayor pro tem.
