Monticello board honors Cindy Fasching on retirement after decade of service

The Monticello Public School District Board held a retirement recognition for Cindy Fasching, the district’s director of teaching and learning, at its June 16 meeting.
Chair Seaman introduced the presentation and described Fasching as “a cornerstone of our district” who had worked long hours and shown “a tireless commitment to excellence.” Fasching accepted a plaque, a plant and a board gift and spoke briefly about her service. “Monticello 10 years ago who chose to hire me at the ALP, and I got to get my start here with students who struggle. And that happens to be my passion,” Fasching said.
Board members thanked Fasching for her leadership in curriculum work, staff support and guiding the district through changes including pandemic-era adjustments. The board extended an open invitation for Fasching to join the policy committee in the future, noting the committee’s meetings are public.
No formal action was required for the recognition; the ceremony was a staff and board acknowledgment of Fasching’s service.
