Students and coaches report standout spring seasons at Sartell‑St. Stephen; tennis, softball, robotics and robotics fundraising highlighted

The Sartell‑St. Stephen board heard a spring activities report from Activities Director Bruce Thompson and student captains who summarized a season with conference championships, state qualifiers and high participation across multiple sports and activities.

Thompson introduced captains and leaders from boys tennis, baseball, golf, softball, lacrosse, track, robotics and trap shooting, among others. Students credited coaches, boosters and family support for the season chievements.

Boys tennis captains Alex Burns and Dane Kenning said the team won the Central Lakes Conference, beat Becker and STMA, took a section title and advanced to state for the first time in program history. The softball captains reported an 18‑6 record, the CLC conference title and a second‑place section finish; the team said it returns eight starters next season.

Robotics captains and students said the program fielded a JV and varsity team, finished among the state qualifiers, and brought home awards including a judges ward and a team sustainability award. Business captain Caroline Deo said the team raised over $40,000 during the season and two students were Dean—up finalists.

Multiple student speakers noted team bonding activities, travel and community celebrations. Thompson thanked the board and the district for support; board members thanked coaches, families and volunteers.

Board members did not take formal action on the report; the presentation was listed as an information item and is expected to inform communications and activity planning for the coming year.
