Mayor issues proclamations recognizing Public Power Week, GFWC Day of Service and Fire Prevention Week

Burton invited the community to TUA’s Public Power Week celebration on Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., noting demonstrations and community outreach planned for the event.
Representatives of the GFWC Centennial Women’s Club of Tullahoma accepted a proclamation designating Sept. 27 (noted in the proclamation text) as the International Day of Service to end domestic violence; a club representative described members’ volunteer work, distribution of care bags to local shelters and other ongoing community projects.
The fire prevention proclamation stressed the 2025 national theme focused on lithium-ion battery safety in homes, urging residents to buy listed products, charge batteries safely and recycle them responsibly. Fire Department staff described prevention outreach, school talks and demonstrations planned during the fire prevention period.
