Paris โ The Paris City Council voted unanimously Monday to approve a recommended rate settlement for Atmos Energy as negotiated by the Atmos city steering committee.
City staff said Atmos originally requested a rate increase that would have raised total revenues by more than $245 million. The steering committee's negotiations reduced the proposed increase by about $40 million; staff recommended that council approve the negotiated rates. If adopted, staff said the rates would become effective Oct. 1, 2025.
Council members thanked steering-committee staff for negotiating a substantial reduction from the initial request. A motion to approve the committee-recommended rates was made and seconded; the council voted 5-0 in favor.
Staff did not provide a line-item breakdown of the new rates during the meeting; the council approved the negotiated settlement as presented by staff.
