Board approves routine resolutions, contracts and new interdistrict program; all motions pass

The West Geauga Local School District Board of Education approved a series of routine and program resolutions during a public meeting. All listed resolutions were moved, seconded and approved by roll call.

Among the approvals, the board authorized routine matters and the warrants for August 2025; accepted donations; approved interfund transfers to build reserves for termination benefits and other obligations; adjusted certified and classified personnel contracts and supplemental contracts for the 2025–26 school year; accepted classified staff resignations; approved additional transportation route assignments for 2025–26; and approved multiple service and independent‑contractor agreements.

The board also approved an interdistrict contract with Berkshire Local Schools to provide two students with access to an ACE/Ford diesel mechanic certification program. District staff described the arrangement as a new pathway that uses Berkshire’s eligibility for additional grant funding and facilities (an ODOT facility repurposed by Berkshire) to offer training West Geauga could not provide directly. District staff said one student drives himself and the district provides transportation for the other student.
