Board approves consent agenda, removes one item from future agenda and recesses to budget session

The Wabasha County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday voted to approve the meeting agenda with the deletion of item A under action item number 10, approved the consent agenda including multiple donations and administrative items, and recessed the regular meeting into a budget session.

Board discussion opened with a staff request to remove item A from action item number 10 because “there are some issues with the resolution and the agenda sheet that need to be corrected before it can be addressed by the board,” according to a staff speaker. The chair noted the item should return at a future board meeting. The motion to approve the agenda with that deletion was carried by voice vote.

The consent agenda approved minutes from the June 17 regular meeting and the board of appeal and equalization, claims, per diems and meal vouchers. It included acceptance of a $1,000 donation to the Veterans Service Office from Millville American Legion and a $1,000 anonymous donation for National Night Out; appointment of an interim auditor‑treasurer (Mr. Plante); approval of a gambling permit; approval of licenses to collect, transport and dispose of solid waste and recyclables; and approval of a maintenance service agreement for UPS equipment in the sheriff’s office with VERTI.

A motion to approve the consent agenda was moved and seconded on the record and carried by voice vote.

Near the end of the session the board approved a motion to recess into a budget session following the meeting; that motion also carried by voice vote.
