The county’s park ordinance was originally adopted June 12, 1972, and had been amended four times, most recently in 2012, Public Works staff said. Staff told the board they had solicited input in several board workshops and, having compiled a final draft, requested a hearing date.
After a motion and second, commissioners voted by voice to set the hearing for Aug. 12 at 10 a.m.
Ending: The board did not take further action on ordinance content at the June 24 meeting; the ordinance update will return for public testimony and any further board action after the Aug. 12 hearing.
