The Goodhue County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine business items at its meeting held at the Cannon Valley Fair.
The board approved the previous meeting minutes and adopted the meeting agenda as presented. The board then approved the consent agenda, which comprised five items: a temporary off-sale liquor license for the Covered Bridge Riders/Snowmobile Club; an on-sale liquor license for the agricultural society for the county fair; a gambling permit for the Madam Classy (as recorded in the packet) at the Goodhue County Fairgrounds; a radiological emergency preparedness grant; and community energy transition grant contracts. All items on the consent agenda were approved on a single motion and vote.
The board accepted the county’s 2024 financial audit after the auditors issued an unmodified opinion on the financial statements and related notes. Lucas Dolly, the county’s finance director, presented that the audit had been finalized and that Goodhue County submitted the report for consideration for the Government Finance Officers Association certificate of achievement. The board unanimously accepted the audit and the county financial statements for the year ended 2024.
Finally, the board approved payment of county claims on a motion and second. The meeting then recessed to prepare for a subsequent human services session.
Formal outcomes recorded at the meeting: approval of previous meeting minutes; approval of the meeting agenda; approval of the five-item consent agenda (items listed above); acceptance of the 2024 financial audit (auditors issued an unmodified opinion); and approval of claims payment. The transcript records these actions as motions made, seconded and carried by voice vote (ayes recorded). Specific mover/second names were not captured in the transcript segments for each routine vote.
