The Inver Grove Heights City Council on July 18 proclaimed July as Parks and Recreation Month and recognized July 18, 2025, as an occasion to thank the Parks and Recreation Department for its services.
The proclamation recited that the city provides residents access to nearly 800 acres of city-owned parkland and facilities such as the Veterans Memorial Community Center and Inverwood Golf Course and noted the department’s mix of full-time, part-time and seasonal staff.
Adam Lottis, the city’s parks and recreation director, accepted the proclamation and thanked the council. “We’re very much appreciative and passionate for the work that we do for providing services to our community,” Lottis said, noting programs and amenities that serve families, seniors and adults.
The proclamation cited the National Recreation and Park Association’s 2025 theme of “Build Together, Play Together” and invited the public to join the council in thanking department staff for their work.
Ending
The council posed for a brief presentation recognizing department staff; no formal policy action or budget changes were taken at the meeting.
