The Inver Grove Heights Economic Development Authority voted to enter a closed session to consider offers for the sale of several parcels near Dickman Trail and Dixie Avenue, city officials said. The EDA convened the closed session following a brief recess of the open meeting.
The closed-session request was made under Minnesota law. Nathan, the EDA attorney, said the EDA was asked to move into closed session “pursuant to a motion under Minnesota statute section 13D.05, subdivision 3(c)(3) to develop or consider offers or counter offers for the sale of real property located near Dickman Trail and Dixie Avenue, identified by Dakota County.” He identified four parcel ID numbers on the record: 200110027012, 201775006050, 201775006071 and 201775006090. Nathan said the closed session would convene immediately in the Mayor’s Conference Room and that the EDA would reconvene the open meeting afterward.
Earlier, the Mayor asked that the city council recess until after the completion of the EDA meeting. A motion to recess was made and seconded and approved by voice vote; the council paused its open meeting so the EDA could proceed.
Roll call at the start of the EDA meeting recorded Murphy, Takach, Dietrich, Leiva and Scales as present. No public discussion of the parcels is included in the meeting record; the EDA moved into the closed session to consider offers and counteroffers, as allowed by the cited statute. The EDA indicated it would return to open session after completing the closed deliberations.
No sale terms, buyer names, appraisals or timetable for decisions were disclosed on the open record. The motion to enter closed session passed by voice vote; no roll-call vote or tally of individual yea/nay votes was recorded in the transcript provided.
