The Okaloosa County School Board on an unanimous vote approved two administrative appointments recommended by Superintendent Chambers: Laura King as principal at Davidson Middle School and Eva Ratley as assistant principal (10 months) at Elliott Point Elementary.
Superintendent Chambers introduced Laura King’s background, noting her degrees and years in Okaloosa County schools and recommended her appointment. "I bring before you Miss Laura King," Chambers said. A motion to appoint King was made by Mister Bridal and seconded by Mister Heinle; the board voted and the motion carried 5 to 0. After the vote, King thanked the board and attendees and said she looked forward to "continuing to strengthen and fortify the Davidson Village" and concluded, "Go Panthers."
Chambers then introduced Eva Ratley for the Elliott Point assistant principal position, reviewing her two decades of classroom experience, recent master's degree in educational leadership, and service as dean of students at Lewis School. A motion to appoint Ratley was moved by Miss Vanjiek and seconded by Mister Destin; the board approved the appointment 5 to 0. Ratley addressed the board to thank mentors, family and colleagues, and closed with "Go Eagles."
Both appointments were presented as administrative personnel recommendations and carried without discussion beyond the staff introductions and the motions. No dissent, abstentions, or conditions were recorded.
