Several council members and members of the public said they still want or expect a separate forensic audit if concerns about missing money remain.
City Manager Van Wagner and other staff said that, technically, the state had taken actions that could compel local governments to submit documents and that noncompliance could result in financial penalties; the council cited the possibility of fines up to $100,000. After discussion, Councilmember Peterson made the motion to approve Resolution 2025-017R; the motion was seconded and carried 5–0.
