At the June 23 meeting the Sanford City Commission approved several budget and procurement items during the general business portion of the agenda.
Resolution 33-92: The commission approved a budget amendment moving $78,610 from the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) budget to the city budget to cover post-design services for the Second Street Streetscape Improvement Project. Staff explained the work includes removing and later replacing brick pavers; commissioners asked about drainage history and staff said a Second Street interceptor culvert installed in the 1990s addresses historic downtown flooding.
Resolution 33-93: The commission approved participation by the Sanford Police Department in the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) grant program. The staff requested approval; the motion passed unanimously.
Add-on (Resolution 33-94 / procurement to Ostrich Construction): As an add-on item the commission approved an amendment to the budget and procurement to Ostrich Construction for an additional egress door in the existing commission chambers in the amount of $58,475; staff said funds are available from reserves. The motion passed unanimously.
Each item was moved, seconded and approved with no recorded opposition.
