The Melbourne Beach Town Commission voted 4-1 on July 16 to release a request for proposals for work at Stormwater Basin 1 using materials prepared by consultant BSE as the basis for the RFP.
Town staff reported that three consultant contracts were expected; BSE and Bowman had executed CCNA agreements, and a third consultant (Hailey Ward / EDC) was pending a name-change paperwork item. Commissioners asked whether the RFP authority from a May meeting remained valid; the town clerk located the prior motion and confirmed it had been amended to —"June 2 or thereafter.—" Counsel confirmed the commission could now proceed and voted to authorize distribution of the RFP.
A commissioner stated a preference to see the BSE contract terms before proceeding; the motion passed 4-1 with that commissioner recorded as dissenting. Staff will send the RFP and task-order package to solicited bidders and return as required for selections and task orders. No contract award was made at the July 16 meeting.
