- Purchase of a truck-bed hydrovac unit from Vermeer Mountain West for $28,722 to support field crews' excavation and utility work. Staff said the smaller bed-mounted unit fits in a truck bed and avoids the footprint and maintenance of a trailer unit. Outcome: approved.
- Authorization of an easement to Enbridge Gas to install a new gas service line that will serve the city-owned property at 135 South Main Street (easements across two parcels: Redevelopment Agency property and the city parcel). The council approved granting the easement and later the RDA board authorized the same easement in its separate agenda. Outcome: approved by council and RDA.
Council discussion on the purchases focused on vendor availability, budget authority, inventory and operational needs. For the metering equipment staff explained the system is single-source (Badger Meter/Itron) so bids were obtained from the authorized reseller; the quoted stock was 902 units. For the vacuum unit staff said the purchase had been budgeted and is intended to reduce delays and improve crew efficiency when multiple hydrovac jobs are required concurrently.
