The Ivins City Council voted unanimously July 17 to appoint two new members to the Arts Commission.
Kathy Smith and Caitlin Krause were each introduced to the council and described their backgrounds. Smith, an eight‑year Ivins resident, described work in arts programs and fundraising and told the council she considers art part of the community fabric. Caitlin Krause, a recent full‑time resident and the city’s part‑time code enforcement officer, described experience in graphic design, event coordination and murals.
Councilmembers thanked both nominees and praised their volunteer experience and local involvement. The council approved the two resolutions by roll call vote; each carried unanimously.
Resolutions: the council approved the resolution appointing Kathy Smith (Resolution No. 20-25-10-10R) and the resolution appointing Caitlin Krause (Resolution No. 20-25-909R). Both appointees were welcomed and indicated they would participate in Arts Commission activities.
