Resident urges Oakland to restrict parking near Driver Services center after safety concerns

She asked the town to post no‑parking signs along the east side of Beau Tisdale Drive from the Driver Services intersection north to Highway 64, to mark no‑parking near corners and intersections, and to maintain brush and tree trimming to preserve visibility.
The mayor took the comments under advisement and said several department heads and the town attorney would look into the requests. The board later discussed street‑parking enforcement as part of Ordinance 25‑04; staff and aldermen noted that the ordinance as adopted addresses larger vehicles and trailers but does not prohibit regular passenger cars and that a separate policy discussion on one‑side parking or fire‑lane designations is needed.
