The Albemarle County Economic Development Authority voted to approve a $10,000 matching contribution toward the capital component of "Fuel," a regional entrepreneurship project led by Venture Central and managed in partnership with the Central Virginia Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Community Investment Collaborative (CIC).
Venture Central executive director Rebecca Hayduck told the authority that Fuel is designed to address three priorities from the Regional Entrepreneurship Initiative: a regional coordinating coalition, peer networks for C-suite leaders and a capital-access program called Fuel Capital. "The reason we're here is we need $10,000 in additional funding for the fuel capital component of this project," Hayduck said during the presentation.
