Commission approves change order with Newman Paving for Jefferson Parkway and 300 Seventh Street overlay

Chuck, the project presenter, told commissioners there were three line-item adjustments: an overage on asphalt, an underrun on oil, and work to address areas where equipment had been parked. He said those adjustments produced a net savings for the county; during the meeting Chuck stated a savings figure of $8,181,140.
The commission moved, seconded and voted 3–0 to approve the change order. No member voted against or abstained.
The change order will be reflected in the county contracts file; Chuck said the adjustments “goes back to our contracts.” The county did not provide a line-item breakdown or an official contract amendment document for public review during the meeting.
