County reports signed broker contract to list 7.582 acres in Navasota; other property sales updates provided

Grimes County Attorney Megan Barcek briefed Commissioners Court on July 16 about the county's property-sales efforts and other real-estate activity.
Barcek said a brokerage contract for the 7.582-acre parcel on Veterans Memorial Drive in Navasota has been signed and the listing is expected to go live early next week. She also reported the Becker House closing has completed and the sale proceeds have been deposited into the historical society's account.
Barcek told the court she will post the public listing link on the county's property-for-sale web page once the broker publishes the listing, enabling interested buyers to use the same public link. Commissioners asked the broker to expedite listing the Navasota parcel to assist county cash-flow expectations; Barcek said the broker will move as quickly as market interest allows.
The item was presented as an update; the court did not convene an executive session on real-estate negotiations during the meeting.
