Sierra Vista Unified board adopts FY26 budget, approves personnel moves and contracts; one waiver denied

At a regular meeting of the Sierra Vista Unified School District Governing Board, the board approved the district's adopted budget for fiscal year 2025'26 and a slate of routine personnel, contracts and administrative authorizations. Most motions passed unanimously or by recorded tallies; one waiver request was denied.

The board approved the FY 2025'26 adopted budget as recommended by administration. Administration noted the district would file the budget with the Arizona Department of Education in compliance with ARS 15-905; the motion passed, 4-0.

Other major approvals included routine minutes; standard personnel resignations; the designation of signers for county and JPMorgan accounts; appointment of Crystal Wambach as student activities treasurer for the remainder of FY26; approval of district grant representatives and signatories; acceptance of a $450 donation of driveway rock and clean fill from Diamond Elite Estates; and approval of an out-of-state trip for Buena Marketing students to attend the Graphics Pro Expo in Long Beach, California. Most of those motions passed 4-0.
