During the July 18 meeting the Valley Center City Council appointed delegates and alternates to represent the city at the Kansas League of Municipalities conference in October in Overland Park.
City staff said Clint and Christie (city staff) are slated to attend, and staff recommended that Mayor James Truman serve as a delegate with a council member to be named as co‑delegate while Clint and Christie serve as alternates. The council moved and seconded a motion to appoint Clint, Christie and Mayor Truman as delegates/alternates for conference registration and to proceed with early registration to qualify for the early‑bird discount. The motion carried unanimously.
Staff noted the city could revisit the final delegate list at a later meeting if other council members (Amy or Chris were named and not present) want to attend.
