Valley Center City Council on July 18 approved advertising for bids for trails and phase‑1 infrastructure that will provide access and utilities around the new elementary school site.
Samantha Grieve, representing the design consultant (ACH/SCB), told council the advertised work will bring access and utilities to northeast blocks adjacent to the school and that paid construction is expected to begin in the next two to three months. The council approved the motion to place the advertisement for bids unanimously.
Staff said bid documents will be published and the city will return with bid results and a recommendation for award after the advertisement period.
The trails are intended to connect with larger multiuse networks and complement the North Seneca reconstruction work and school access improvements described earlier in the meeting.
