Council approved the purchase from C & B Equipment. A council member asked whether freight was included on the quote; staff replied there would be no freight charge because the city would pick up the unit. The motion carried unanimously.
Staff said the gearbox replacement is necessary for near‑term plant reliability; longer‑term capital work on the aeration basin remains under study and will require its own planning and budgeting process.
