Sheriff's office, road and bridge give routine reports; Berry Bridge and inmate counts updated

The sheriff reported a current inmate count of 147 (124 male, 23 female) and said patrol calls last week totaled 403 and 11,108 for the year to date. The sheriff said the department recently sent deputies to no-cost tactical medical and drug-detection trainings and described positive feedback from officers about body-worn cameras used in pilot testing.
Road & Bridge staff reported completion of overlay replacements on scheduled roads, ongoing culvert work on private property requests and progress on a MoDOT-related job. Staff said the paving crew completed work on sections identified as Hillsborough from Kaye to Lambeth and were progressing on Albury and Patterson.
The Berry Bridge project remains on schedule, staff said, though the contractor had temporary labor issues that have been addressed. Commissioners asked whether the bridge would be open before school starts; staff said the bridge structure would be complete but additional road-work to bring approaches to grade could delay full opening until later in the year.
No formal actions were taken during the departmental reports portion of the meeting.
