Commissioners clarified they were only authorizing the roofing bid process at this meeting, not a solar procurement. A commissioner asked whether the roofing work is budgeted; staff said the roof is not covered by the solar grant and that they are reallocating other budget funds for the repair. Commissioners said estimates will not be discussed publicly before bids are received to avoid skewing the bidding process.
The motion to advertise/bid the roof was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Commissioners also discussed related facility items such as door replacements and a separate morgue door item; those items remain separate procurements.
