Glendale Water & Power (GWP) presented the launch plan for a new myGWP customer portal, scheduled to go live July 22. Senior IT Application Analyst Giancarlo Alcantara said the portal URL will remain the same and that migration will require some downtime for which phone payment options will remain available.
Key changes: existing users should be able to use their previous usernames and emails but will be required to reset passwords; all customers will be asked to re‑enroll in AutoPay (the feature will not migrate automatically); the profile settings should be verified post‑migration (name fields sometimes change during migration). The portal offers account dashboards, billing and payment history, digital meter and usage charts, outage reporting, and comparison tools.
Staff will send email prompts to customers on launch morning with instructions and provide online guidance on how to reset passwords and re‑enroll in AutoPay. Council members welcomed the features and staff said they would follow up on any access or migration problems after launch.
