Pompano Beach CRA outlines façade and site-improvement grants; board presses for broader Northwest outreach

Kimberly Vasquez, the CRA project core manager, presented the programs and eligibility rules for the Pompano Beach façade and business-site improvement grants at the July 15 meeting.
The program reimburses eligible commercial property or business owners for exterior improvements. Vasquez said approved applicants receive reimbursement for 80% of eligible improvements; the East maximum CRA contribution is $20,000 per storefront and the Northwest maximum is $50,000, with a $200,000 cap for a contiguous parcel such as a strip shopping center.
Vasquez described other program rules: applicants must be commercial (retail or restaurant), must meet program goals, and office buildings and nonprofits are ineligible. Security cameras as a standalone purchase do not qualify…
