The Fort Pierce Utilities Authority board on July 15 adopted Resolution UA2025-11 to approve conveyance of a 10-foot stormwater and drainage easement for the Villas at King's Landing plat.
City staff member (Missus Bescaboyne) told the board the property is owned by the city "for the use and benefit of the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority" and that the deed language authorizes the conveyance. She said the easement formalizes drainage on a parcel that serves Lift Station A in downtown Fort Pierce.
"This is a 10 foot drainage easement on the site plan for the Villas At King's Landing," Bescaboyne said during the presentation. She explained the item requires approval by both this board and the City Commission; the board acts first and the item will then go to the city commission for its approval.
A motion to adopt Resolution UA2025-11 passed by voice/roll call with the board voting yes. The board recessed to director comments after the vote. The resolution includes a standard severability clause and identifies the easement conveyance as effective upon adoption, subject to the city commission's subsequent approval as required by the deed and local process.
Board action and next steps: the board authorized the conveyance by resolution; staff will forward the adopted resolution and conveyance documents to the City Commission for final approval.
