The San Antonio Zoning Commission on an afternoon meeting voted to recommend approval on six combined rezoning items (2, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 10) and took final votes on several other agendas, forwarding recommendations to City Council. Commissioners also postponed two separate cases to August dates after limited public comment and staff discussion.
The commission approved a grouped motion to recommend approval of agenda items 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 10. Commissioner Taylor Watson moved the grouped approval; Commissioner Marco Barros seconded. The roll call read as recorded on the meeting: Marco Barros, Rob Sipes, William Gonzanden, Daniel Calem, John Widsett, Taylor Watson, Georgie Hinojosa, Eddie Reyes and Commissioner Chase voted “yes.” President John Bustamante announced the motion carried. Those six items will be sent to City Council with the commission’s recommendation and (per commission procedure) the applicants have up to six months to present to council.
