Council approves rezoning and plats for Completely Kids Henry Davis campus expansion

The council approved rezoning and subdivision items enabling Completely Kids to expand its Henry Davis campus; the vote was 6-0 with one abstention.
On July 7 the Omaha City Council approved a package of zoning and plat measures (items 13–17) that will allow Completely Kids to expand its Henry Davis campus at the northwest corner of 20th and St. Mary’s Avenue. The Planning Board and Planning Department recommended approval.
Proponents included Joe Delfts and representatives for the owner and architect; project materials show the expansion will add classrooms for after-school programs, outdoor play areas and modifications to existing green space. Council members asked whether the soccer field and green space would remain; project representatives said parts would be modified and some elements would be salvaged or relocated with the building expansion.
The council approved the items by a roll call vote of 6-0 with Council Member Harding recorded as abstaining. The approvals include rezoning, preliminary and final plats and a subdivision agreement to move the project forward.
