Airport staff: lower Jet A price boosted sales; bulk-discount and storage policy unclear

Airport staff said a recent reduction in Jet A prices increased fuel sales and drew customers who cited price as their primary reason to use the field. “A lot of them have said the only reason we're here is because of your price,” an airport staff member said.

Staff reported receiving a new tanker and the bill of sale last Friday and said they expect costs to rise. “Just got a new tanker delivered Friday. I just got the bill of sale for that. I suspect it's gonna go up,” the staff member said.

Board members and staff discussed whether to offer bulk discounts for purchasers who buy large quantities or frequent multiple fill-ups. One board member said the airport needs to “define what type of business is eligible,” and asked whether fuel could be stored on airport property. Staff said there is no written paperwork or agreement in place for bulk discounts. “But we don't have here because it just falls in. And and I'm, you know, and you have nothing in writing,” a participant said.
