Central School District 13J sworn in newly elected board members and unanimously elected its leadership during a regular board meeting.
The board administered the oath of office to new members; Emily (staff member) administered the oath. After nominations, Byron Schinkel was elected board chair by a unanimous voice/hand vote, and Susan Graham was elected vice chair by the same method.
The board used an open-nomination process at the meeting. A nomination for Schinkel drew no recorded opposition; the vote was taken by raised hands and recorded as unanimous. Susan Graham was nominated and seconded for vice chair and also elected unanimously.
Board members confirmed the leadership selections before moving on to standing reports and business items. The board briefly thanked the newly elected leaders and noted the procedural steps for future meetings, including election of officers at the start of the 25-26 school year.
The meeting also included a public oath for at least one newly elected director; board members remarked that a family photo opportunity would follow for the newly sworn member.
