Council OKs Pillar of Fire equipment barn rezoning, applicant to add landscape screening

The City Council on July 14 approved a rezoning and related development plans to allow Pillar of Fire to build an indoor equipment barn on a 17.12-acre parcel west of Federal Boulevard and north of W. 80th Ave.
City planners said the existing R-1 zoning did not permit indoor equipment storage. John McConnell, planning manager, said the applications were properly noticed and that planning staff and the planning commission recommended approval.
